The times that we are living in are difficult-indeed. It is not hard to be faced with many decisions and feel the effects of the economic situation. Despite these factors, we have to trust in God to guide us out of financial debt. To help us live a more productive life. God is able to do all things. However, he wants us to help ourselves also. Blessed is he that works with his hands. God loves us to need him. He likes us to ask for his help and guidance. He loves to rescue us and show us his love and mercy. We just have to ask him for it. We sometimes desire a quick fix. We do not have patience or take the time to make positive changes and decisions. We have to change our way of thinking, first. We do this by 'reversing' our habits. We can sometimes get into the mode of feeling sorry for ourselves, or thinking 'negatively' by thinking our situation will never change. We have to realize that in making 'positive changes' in our lives and situation begins with 'positive thinking'. Believe in yourself again! Know that you have the ability and strive to do and have better in your lives! Believe it, seek it, then do it! Giving up is easy. Remember, that anything worthwhile takes time, patience and hard work! It will pay off! You will have the home you want, you will find the job you want and need, you will prosper! Nothing is impossible for God! When we have him in our lives and we pray over our situation asking him for guidance....he does it! Just remember this, when we ask God to take over our situation...he does! God works like this...What we may think that we need or want is not always what is in our best interests! I will give you an example...I asked God to help me out of my situation. I could invision a huge yard, huge house, nice neighborhood, a vehicle. Keep in mind, my husband is disabled-fighting for his life. We live on a disability check from month to month. Prior to his disability he was a very hardworking man. Never sick and never missed work. We were used to having money. But we didn't expect him to get sick. We always thought he would be healthy and able to work. Oneday, he woke up and got ready to go to work. I could tell that he was sick. I asked him to stay home. He went to work anyway. While at work, he felt sick. He went into the restroom and threw up blood everywhere losing all of the blood out of his body. Rushed to the hospital. I was at home cleaning the house. I was nervous because I knew something was bad wrong with him before he went to work. Then life for us changed in an instant. When he started Disability, he wasn't making in one month what he was making in one week! How was we to survive on this little bit of money? I prayed about it. I began to think back to when his income was much better and how I would spend money on things I wanted instead of the things we needed. I quickly learned how important it is to put back money for a 'rainy day'. It was too late to put back money now. After the bills there was not any money left to put back. We learned to live month to month. Cutting out the luxuries and barely having the necessities! God blessed us with the large yard for the 10-dogs we have had all of their lives, and the big house to store years of things we have accumulated, in our price range. However, all pictures are not pretty! We have snakes in our house. I have been bitten numerous times. The snakes even get into our bed at night. It has been a living nightmare. I continued praying. Only God is perfect. Our situation is not perfect, as we are not perfect. God told me I can change this situation. I prayed and prayed and begged for someone to rent us a house without snakes. I put my faith in God. I applied myself to change the situation too. I began to work from sun up to sun down, caulking, painting, sealing and filling up every crack, hole and crevice. Still working on it until this very day. It has been a while since I have seen a snake in my house. However, summer has not begun and is not over yet! I trust in God and I have applied myself as well. I know and believe that things can and will get better for us. I'm taking care of my sick husband also, ten dogs, a bird and a fish. My husband was given only 6 months to live due to liver failure, that was 3 and 1/2 years ago! The doctors call him a miracle! Someone in his condition is not able to walk and talk. My husband feeds the dogs everyday. He cooks and helps me clean the house! God's grace is sufficient! We have to trust him with all that we have and he will prevail. He never fails and never lies....his word is concrete and he is perfect without blemish or mistakes. I am terrified of snakes and almost had heartattacks due to them! I am still alive and my situation is getting better slowly but surely! We have to trust God completely and have faith in ourselves as well and the situation no matter how bad it seems ...can and will turn around! Remember, when we ask God to provide for us he does! It may not be what we want.....but it is always what is best for us and what we "need"! We have to be grateful and thankful and receive it with much thanks unto him! God Bless You and Your Family's Always! I'll be praying for you....and we must pray for ourselves also! God is our Father and our friend! We can talk to him just as we talk to our very best friend! He does love us very much! ~Love, Madonna Short. (MadonnaButterfly)~
